Would it look dumb to have chairs with sashes but no covers?

we would do a satin silver sash.
Also we are thinking of doing white table clothes (provided free by the hall) with a black table runner, would this look dumb?
Silver or black napkins or should we use colored napkins like red or purple?
I like the look of the chairs, but I could definitely see satin silver sashes on them. It would be a nice combination with the wood. Chair *covers* are for ugly chairs. Chair *sashes* are used to enhance what you already have. They would tie in your colour scheme with the chairs and are also less expensive than getting whole chair covers.
